AVIS Project Update: Successful Completion of the Second Intermediate Report Meeting (IRM2)
The AVIS consortium successfully concluded the Second Intermediate Report Meeting (IRM2) on 27 November in Tres Cantos, Spain. The meeting brought together all project partners to review progress achieved during this phase, evaluate ongoing activities, and coordinate the next steps toward the pilot implementation stage.
Throughout the session, the consortium assessed technical developments, discussed upcoming challenges, and aligned on the roadmap for the remaining project period. The conversations highlighted the shared commitment to advancing navigation safety and efficiency across European inland waterways through innovative, user-focused solutions.
With IRM2 completed, the project now moves into a decisive phase focused on:
- Refining prototypes and preparing pilot activities across selected European waterways
- Strengthening usability, operational safety, and standardization efforts
- Leveraging EU Space data (EGNSS and Copernicus) to deliver actionable insights that support safe and efficient everyday navigation
The consortium extends its appreciation to all partners for their continued dedication and collaboration. The next months will be pivotal as AVIS transitions into pilot execution and validation.
