Welcome to our website! We’re the leading team behind The European Commission’s AVIS project, spearheaded by top-tier multinational tech firm, GMV.
AVIS stands for Automated Vessels on Inland waterways.
Our primary mission is to pioneer enhanced navigation systems for autonomous vessels traversing the extensive network of Europe’s inland waterways. We’re leveraging cutting-edge EU space systems like the European Global Navigation Satellite System (E-GNSS) and Copernicus to supercharge our mission.
Not just limited to improving waterway navigation, our project aims to stimulate the development of innovative applications for autonomous vessels, while aligning with the EU’s ambitious green agenda by driving sustainable, less polluting transportation systems. Our stellar consortium, led by GMV, unites a diverse array of organizations rich in expertise, united by the desire to harness technology to revolutionize European waterway transportation.
